The Prosecutor's Office of Odesa region filed a lawsuit in the court regarding termination of town-planning conditions and restrictions on land plot development on the premises of the SE ‘Pivdenny Sea Commercial Port’. It was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Odesa region.

According to the report, private enterprise planned to construct grain terminal on the land plot of more than 9 hectares that is the state property and belongs to the State Enterprise ‘Pivdenny Sea Commercial Port’ and is not foreseen for these purposes.

‘The ports of southern Ukraine are of strategic importance for development of the country's transport and transit system. Therefore, conservation of the lands of this category as well as construction of the state-owned facilities on them are pursued as a priority’, the press service informed.

According to the data provided by regional media, construction of the grain terminal was envisaged by Black Sea Grain Terminal. Until February 2019, the company was called ‘Prichaly Kominterna’ (Berths of Comintern). The company is controlled by Portinvest.

Rinat Akhmetov’s company acquired Prichaly Kominterna LLC in 2012. This company, which previously belonged to Evraz mining and metallurgical holding of Roman Abramovych, intended to implement project of a new coal terminal in the water area of the Small Adzhalyk estuary.
